The LAB is an athletic development platform that connects athletes and parents with experienced coaches. Coaches use The LAB to schedule training sessions, collect payments, plan structured workouts, and track athlete progress with goals, leaderboards, and an optional progression system of their own: a Style, like LAB Jerseys.

Yes! Creating a profile is free for athletes and parents. Coaches get everything for free — your own page, scheduling, payments, activity library, Communities, calendar sync — with no limits. The LAB earns a small share of each online payment: a 3.4% + $0.40 service fee, and coaches choose who carries it.

LAB Play is the best training in The LAB, on one subscription: the activities, games and programs LAB coaches and communities put in it, and The LAB's own. Athletes run them in the live player, with the timer, the video and every attempt recorded, so they can chase personal bests and climb the leaderboards. One plan covers a single athlete or a whole household, starts with a free trial, and can be cancelled any time. And most of what you pay goes to the coaches who made the training, shared out by the minutes of real training their work delivers. See the plans.

The LAB supports all sports. Whether it's basketball, soccer, baseball, football, lacrosse, volleyball, tennis, track and field, swimming, or any other sport — if you can coach it, you can run it through The LAB. Coaches build their own activities and training plans tailored to their sport.

Athletes and parents pay online when they sign up for a session, camp or clinic, and the money goes to the coach's bank account through Stripe. Every price on a coach's page is the price for paying online: the coach's price plus a 3.4% + $0.40 service fee, rounded up to the dollar. Where the coach takes payment in person, paying in person is the coach's own price. A coach can cover the fee or split it instead, and their page shows prices to match. Stripe also bills the coach $2 in any month they take a payment, out of that month's payout, never out of what the client pays.

A Style is a coach's own system for recognizing athlete development: the milestones that matter, in the order they come. Coaches build their own Style, or adopt one another coach has shared once The LAB has reviewed it. LAB Jerseys are one kind of Style, ready to use: a color progression, like martial arts belts, where athletes earn their way from White to Black as they hit milestones and complete goals, and keep every jersey they earn wherever they train. A coach can also make their own, called whatever they call it (Stages, Belts, Tiers), and place each athlete at one.

Use the Browse Coaches page to search by sport and location. Each coach has their own page with their bio, schedule, available sessions, and pricing. You can book directly from their page.

Submit a coach application. Your page goes live as soon as you submit, so you can set it up and start booking athletes right away. The green check — our verification badge — is reviewed by hand; college or professional playing or coaching experience is required for it, with exceptions for high-level youth coaches who have strong references.
